Ana Soares is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in addition to being a licensed California Attorney. Ana's areas of practice include business formation and transactions, Bureau of Real Estate Recovery Account Applications, wills, trusts and probate, and sales and use tax matters, and general tax advising and examinations. Ana represents clients before the California Franchise Tax Board, California Board of Equalization, and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Ana joined the firm in May, 2009. Prior to this, Ana worked as a tax manager for the accounting firm Hayashi & Wayland, in Carmel, California. Before this, Ana worked in the federal tax controversy department of Deloitte, in which she defended clients before the IRS.
Ana received her juris doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she won the Fenwick and West Tax Prize for outstanding performance in tax classes. Ana also received the Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency from Santa Clara University while attending law school. Ana spent one summer during law school studying in Moscow, Russia, where she studied Russian law and civil society and interned with Legal Practice LLC. As an intern with Legal Practice LLC, Ana drafted the English version of the Mars Inc. and IKEA Russian Distribution and Wholesale Agreements, and calculated total recovery amounts for pending litigation.
Ana earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California.
